Love the Coopers (titled Christmas with the Coopers in the UK) is a 2015 American Christmas comedy film directed by Jessie Nelson, and written by Steven Rogers. The film stars an ensemble cast, including Alan Arkin, John Goodman, Ed Helms, Diane Keaton, Jake Lacy, Anthony Mackie, Amanda Seyfried, June Squibb, Marisa Tomei, and Olivia Wilde. The film was released on November 13, 2015 by CBS Films and Lionsgate.

Plot

When four generations of the Cooper clan come together for their annual Christmas Eve celebration, a series of unexpected visitors and unlikely events turn the night upside down, leading them all toward a surprising rediscovery of family bonds and the spirit of the holiday.

Production

Principal photography began on December 19, 2014 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where scenes were filmed at Pittsburgh Crèche, at the U.S. Steel Tower, and at the PPG Place.[4][5] Filming was also done on Ligonier Diamond in Ligonier.[6] Filming took place at Butler Memorial Hospital in Butler, PA, in January and February 2015, and at Orchard Hill Church, during the week of February the first. The closing scene was filmed in the quaint community of Blackridge, in the East suburbs of Pittsburgh, as well at Boyce Park Ski Slopes.[7]

The film was released in the United States on November 13, 2015, by CBS Films and Lionsgate.[8]
