Vijay plays dual role in this movie as Marudheeran and Pulivendhan. Hansika Motwani as princess and Shruti Haasan pairs with Vijay (Marudheeran).Puli is set against the backdrop of a fantasy kingdom named Vedhala Kotai, which is ruled by its queen, played by Sridevi, and commandeered by Sudeep.
