144 is a 2015 Tamil comedy film directed by G. Manikandan and produced by C. V. Kumar, starring Ashok Selvan, Shiva, Oviya and Shruthi Ramakrishnan in the leading roles.^[1] The film's plot is partially inspired from the novel Vasanthakaala Kutrangal written by Sujatha.

Production

The film was launched by producer C. V. Kumar with new director Manikandan, and it began its first schedule in February 2015, with a principal cast of Shiva, Ashok Selvan, Oviya and Sruthi Ramakrishnan announced.^[2] The team shot scenes in Madurai, with Ashok Selvan portraying an illegal Lorry racer.r^[3] After a single long schedule, the film was announced to be nearing completion by April 2015.^[4]
